Unless you really put out a fantastic
advert, as it is unlikely you will be contacted by someone looking for a house
mate.. It is a seller’s market, so you’ll have
to do the contacting. Many advertisements will provide you the choice of contacting
via email or phone. If you’re really interested in a room, reply with
details of yourself and follow it up with a call. It’s likely dozens of
others are equally interested and speaking to the person, separates you from
the masses. You’ll also get a feel for the person.
Loquo is Barcelona's number one classifieds ads website. This should be the first place you look for shared accommodation. It is "foreigner" friendly in that many of the offers posted expect many foreigners to apply and often post their accommodation ads in english
Piso Compartido is, as the name clearly says, a portal dedicated to shared accommodation. It also has a physical office in the Sants area (C/ dels Comtes de Bell-lloc, nº 82, bajos. 08014 Barcelona). Their office is open Mon-Fri 9am to 8pm. Tel: 93-4110918
Idealista
is one of Spain's most reputable names in the housing market. It's survey results
are often quoted. Although it doesn't have as many advertisements for shared
accommodation as Loquo, it's search system is infinitely better, providing you
with a detailed map to click the area you wish to live in. It also shows you
how many people live in the flatshare, the ratio of boys to girls, and narrow
down your search to "boy looking for shared flat in Gracia" for example.
Barcelona
Connect, one of Barcelona's best know free publications for foreigners

Barcelona Metropolitan is a free monthly magazine for foreigners living in Barcelona. You must be quick off the mark to get a hard copy, but those in the know checked the online version of the magazine which appears before its printed sibling . Be aware that these rates are often inflated as landlords know (or believe they know) that foreigners are not as well connected as locals and are willing, or have no other option but to pay over the odds for rental accommodation.
Easy Piso is Foto Casa's portal for shared accommodation. When I last looked the website was having problems but it should be up and running when you click on the link.
Campus anuncios Although I have only recently learned of its existence, it looks like it could be a good place to look for shared accomodation.
Pro Habitatge Accommodation portal for young people (18-35) looking for shared accommodation, a flat or room. Only in Catalan
